NEW BRITAIN – OKAY Industries, Inc. has announced the promotion of longtime employee Mario Chaves, Jr. to Director of Engineering in Costa Rica.
“I have witnessed tremendous growth and vertical integration at our Costa Rica factory over the past ten years,” Chaves, Jr. told . I look forward to leading a committed and talented team of engineers and working with our engineering team in the United States to share best practices and deliver world-class products that save and improve lives.
In his new role as Director of Engineering, Chaves, Jr. will oversee the growth and development of the engineering team in Alajuela, Costa Rica, and manage strategy and budget planning to drive project execution. and provide the highest quality products.
“Over the past decade, Mario has been a role model for finding new ways to improve our processes and add new technologies that have allowed us to become more competitive,” said Sean Stowik, director of sales and marketing. “He also created a strong engineering team that elevated our position among medical technology organizations in and around Alajuela. I look forward to seeing his continued growth at OKAY.
Chaves, Jr. has been a member of the OKAY team for a decade and began his journey as a machinist. He also served the OKAY team in the areas of production control, purchasing, facilities, IT and others, becoming a valued member of the strategic management team.
