SELANGOR Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari announced the Kita Selangor 2.0 package with a total allocation of RM551.56mil.
The program’s incentives are aimed at further alleviating the plight of residents of Selangor affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
With the theme of ‘Succeeding Together’, the 2.0 package also includes an allocation of RM 2.55 million to be channeled into the state’s tourism industry through four categories of incentives:
⢠Selangor tourism incentive subsidy program / promotional activities
⢠Tourism vouchers Selangor 2.0
⢠Selangor Tourism Digitization Training Program
⢠One-off incentive to 16 tourist associations in the state.
According to the chairman of the Selangor Tourism and Environment Committee, Hee Loy Sian, this economic stimulus plan is aimed at the recovery of the tourism industry in Selangor.
It also aims to encourage state industrial players to continue their promotion and marketing actions.
These initiatives are crucial in making Selangor the country’s preferred and premier travel destination when the pandemic is over and tourists begin to return.
Developing further, he said the allocation to the state’s tourism industry is as follows:
Selangor Incentive Subsidy Program / Tourism Promotion Activities.
This RM 1 million program will be used to recover the tourism industry of Selangor through a method of repayable financial assistance which is claimed by industry players in the state with regard to spending. related to the execution of tourism promotion initiatives.
The amount that can be claimed on an entry / execution basis is 50% of total expenditure, or maximum eligibility of RM20,000; the lowest of them.
Selangor Tourism Vouchers 2.0 The second phase of the Selangor Tourism Vouchers grant will operate on an additional allocation of RM 1 million. A total of 20,000 units of tourist vouchers worth RM50 each will be distributed through the e-commerce platform to ensure the general public’s eligibility for the use of these tourist vouchers.
Selangor Tourism Digitization of Tourism Training Program Selangor will collaborate with Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC) to organize a virtual Selangor Tourism Digitization Training Program which aims to raise awareness of tourism and develop skills , knowledge and productivity of industry players in online marketing and digitization. This approach will involve a cost of almost RM300,000.
Unique incentive for 16 tourism associations Tourism associations in Selangor find it difficult to fulfill their roles and functions in providing support to all of their registered members, especially in the absence of financial support from the state.
Recognizing this fact, a one-time incentive in the amount of RM 240,000 will be paid to 16 tourism associations in Selangor, each receiving RM 15,000 to perform promotional activities, which is expected to maintain the positive momentum of this industry in the state.
