Gmarket promotes Korean products with Mega G sales event

With Netflix’s hit “Squid Game” sparking interest in all things Korea, e-commerce giant Gmarket has said it will offer discounts on various South Korean products to international consumers next month.

The platform’s annual Mega G sales event will take place November 1-12, as part of its Big Smile Day end-of-year promotion.

A record number of Korean brands will participate in the award event this year, the company said.

Gmarket’s global store is also becoming a hub for K content, the company said. He offers various scripted and unscripted videos on his YouTube channel “Inssa Oppa” featuring K-pop idols. An episode with two band members Monsta X garnered over 2 million views, he said.

The e-commerce site serves customers from some 80 countries around the world. The site is in two languages, English and Chinese, and accepts a variety of payment options, including foreign credit cards, PayPal, and Alipay.

Using the site’s combined packaging and delivery service, customers can choose to have products from different sellers delivered together.

The products are delivered by express courier. The company is expanding its delivery networks in China through its recent partnership with SF Express, one of the largest delivery service providers in China.
